It Takes A Village
Being a good parent doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. Every child is different and, despite societal pressures, it is normal to not have all the answers. In a nurturing, communicative, and fun environment you and your child can gain the skills and understanding needed to be successful at home and school.
Children and Therapy
Just because children are young doesn’t mean they don’t have complex feelings and emotions. Sometimes it’s a challenge to put these thoughts, feelings, and emotions into words. In therapy, especially in the creative arts therapies, using dance/movement, art, and playful, body-based interventions allows your child to express themself without the pressure of getting something “right”.Our sessions offer kids the opportunity to play and be creative while also processing events in their world. Creative arts therapies are a safe way for children to explore the things they are going through and gain tools on how to approach challenges.Children and teens may display a variety of behaviors that indicate they are struggling. You may notice these behaviors and struggles in many areas that can cause your child to be withdrawn, have a hard time focusing or have impulsive and self-disruptive behaviors. These issues can indicate your child would benefit from therapy to learn new skills, coping mechanisms, resolve underlying issues, and work on processing emotions.Using play, storytelling, role plays, and the creative arts, allows your child to be in their element while learning strong values and new behaviors. We would love to hear about your child’s interests and learn how to support your whole family. In our creative approach to child and family therapy, your child can learn to:- Express their emotions and feelings, and know that their feelings are acceptable - Accept themselves - Assume responsibility for themselves - Be creative and resourceful - Develop Self- control, self-expression and self-direction skills - Make choices and be responsible for their choices - Communicate their thoughts and feelings in both verbal and nonverbal ways - Develop new creative solutions to problems - Foster empathy and respect for thoughts and feelings - Learn new social and relational skills
Family is an important role in our emotional, physical, and spiritual development. Family therapy provides you and your family members the space to share opinions and views in the most supportive way possible. This allows your family to feel empowered, hearing, and supporting each other through challenges and tough times. Each individual grows for the family to emerge stronger as a whole.
Benefits of family therapy may include:- Better and enhanced communication and problem-solving - Improved family relationships and stronger bonds - Increased self-awareness and self-esteem - Reduced conflict, and improved ability to use healthy ways of expressing anger - Increased ability to identify and set healthy limits or boundaries - Improved ability to express emotions and communicate needs

How Do I Know If I’m Covered for Your Services?
You can verify your eligibility and benefits by calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. Some questions to ask are, “What are my outpatient mental health benefits?", “Do I have a co-pay, co-insurance, or deductible for outpatient mental health services?”, and “Are there any limits or authorizations required?”
Your exact coverage and the amount you will owe cannot be confirmed until a claim has been filed and processed by your insurance provider. Please note that not all services may be covered by insurance. This includes, but is not limited to, wellness workshops, and music therapy.
