Music Therapy

Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program (AMTA, 2019).

Music therapists acknowledge that because we are human, we all have music within us. In music therapy, an individual’s music is the outward manifestation of his/her/their inner process and is honored, not judged. One's music is explored through receptive and/or active music making and through musical and/or verbal processing with guidance and support from the music therapist. Music therapy can address a wide range of goals, including but not limited to, enhancing emotional awareness and expression, improving communication skills, managing stress and anxiety, and accessing the creative spirit.

How Do I Know If I’m Covered for Your Services?

You can verify your eligibility and benefits by calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. Some questions to ask are, “What are my outpatient mental health benefits?", “Do I have a co-pay, co-insurance, or deductible for outpatient mental health services?”, and “Are there any limits or authorizations required?”

We're glad to assist in checking your insurance coverage to get an estimate before your first session. However, coverage and the amount you will owe cannot be confirmed until a claim has been filed and processed by your insurance provider. Please note that not all services may be covered by insurance. This includes, but is not limited to, wellness workshops, and music therapy.
