I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist. As a young person, I experienced the connection between health and creative expression and this is what drew me to Dance/Movement Therapy. I highly value individuality and creativity and encourage my clients to tap into different modes of self-expression in order to support their wellness.
My approach to therapy is holistic and person-centered, meaning I support you as the leader of your own healing. I highly value the creative process, self-expression, and self-discovery. I am interested in working with individuals who are looking to heal, grow, and develop deeper self-awareness, a stronger sense of identity, and confidence. If you are looking for a safe space to express yourself, wonder about the world, or process upcoming life choices, please reach out to me. I’ll offer you an environment free from judgement and support as you navigate whatever pathway you choose.
When engaging in dance or movement in my sessions, you will never be told that you are doing something correctly or incorrectly but will instead be encouraged to engage with the movements and learn about yourself. The process always outweighs the product. My Bachelor’s degree is in Psychology and my Master’s degree is in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling. As an adult, I have continued my training in flamenco, modern, and ballet styles and enjoy incorporating elements of these art forms into my therapy sessions when possible.
Over the past ten years I have worked in a variety of settings with both individual clients and groups. Through these experiences, I have facilitated therapy for individuals from age 3 to 99 years old and have worked with clients from many backgrounds, including individuals living with dementia and Parkinson’s disease, those on the autism spectrum, people navigating depression and anxiety, and individuals interested in increasing their creative expression and self-awareness.
